Remove network lock on Samsung GT-E1190
I have a 10-year old Samsung phone, GT-E1190, which I bought when I was abroad (Spain, carrier Yoigo).
I think the EU now has rules that, after a certain number of years, the carrier has to unlock the consumer phone; I called the technical support line, but got rebuffed from the start because I don't currently have a Yoigo phone number; going back to Spain is impractical at the moment.
I tried the master reset code *2767*3855# (from here) and it resets to factory settings, but is still locked.
I found some websites online promising to sell unlock codes; if these work, the program generating the unlock code from the IMEI should be well-known, but I couldn't find it on GitHub.
How can I remove the network lock on a Samsung GT-E1190?
