checking for the existence of PondRAT malware and eliminating it from Linux (Ubuntu)

News have been going around about the PondRAT exploit that can come from certain Python packages. I have a bunch of Python projects and, while I'm pretty sure I haven't directly downloaded any of the packages listed, correct me if I'm wrong, but I know there's always the possibility they could still come as transient dependencies with other packages.

Since I haven't found any articles that clearly address this, my question is: What steps should I take in order to protect my system and find and clear the threat if it exists? I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 on WSL2, but I suppose this could potentially apply for Ubuntu in general.
