Is it safe to use Internet Archive following its cyber-attack?
This is a follow-up to a question regarding recent Internet Archive hacking.
Website web.archive.org was restored in a readonly mode but is it safe to use it? Looking at the brief disclosure of the attack, in addition to DDoS, which is just deniability of the service, there is also mentioning that the contents of the website was infiltrated by the attacking group:
defacement of our website via JS library
with the remedy of
Disabled the JS library
which should mean the website is safe to use but online scanners like VirusTotal or Sucuri SiteCheck continue to report it as infected / malicious.
Is web.archive.org still infected and unsafe to use? If yes, and one has visited it, what should be the remedy for that?
