Limit Windows NTFS for only its first half to be writable

I want to install Windows on my PC on a partition that should take up the entire disk, but I want only, say, the first half or quarter of it to be usable, and reserve the rest (for some infosec thing I'm experimenting with).
Again just to clarify, I want the partition to be displayed as one that takes up the whole disk, this is very important, but I only want the first half or so of it to be used, the latter part being left untouched by Windows.

Is it possible to configure this in any way, preferably without any external tools such as VeraCrypt?
Is this achievable in Linux if not in Windows? Thanks in advance
