Is it possible to get information about vulnerable and not fixed CPUs?
In the next months, I want to build a home server using this motherboard and an Opteron 6100 CPU + libreboot or coreboot. There is only one problem: some old, unmaintained CPUs are vulnerable to Spectre or other CVEs. For example, I had an old Xeon 5 CPU which is vulnerable (spectre-meltdown-checker report was fixable only by upgrading the firmware. The problem is Xeon 5 is EOL, and the latest firmware fixes nothing). It's the same thing for an old Power5 CPU. Now, the question is: is there a place somewhere to get information about the status of vulnerable CPUs? I don't want to spend a lot of money on a "secure" server with a vulnerable CPU.
