Is Hybrid Analysis a Reliable Tool for Checking Software Safety?

I always check software for potential malware before installing it on Windows 10, using two main online analysis tools:

  • Hybrid Analysis
  • VirusTotal

Recently, I tested several well-known programs, including:

  • PowerISO
  • UltraISO
  • AnyBurn
  • 7-Zip

VirusTotal reported all of them as clean, but Hybrid Analysis flagged every single one as malicious, with high threat scores (e.g., 100/100).

  • How credible is Hybrid Analysis compared to VirusTotal?
  • Does Hybrid Analysis tend to produce false positives, or should I completely avoid software it flags?
  • Do security professionals actually use Hybrid Analysis as a trustworthy malware detection tool?

I want to ensure I’m only using safe software, but these conflicting results make it confusing.
