destruction of DVD media [closed]
DVD-R platters consist of two poly carbonate disks with a shinny metallic like surface in between. The area in between also contains a dye like material, usually purple in color. Is the information written on a DVD-R stored in that dye or, on the metallic like surface?
This might be another way of asking about data destruction - is it the shinny metallic material that needs to be destroyed or perhaps it is the dye that contains the data?
