How do I know my TPM is not tampered with before using it? [duplicate]
I have researched a little bit about TPM, and the way I see it is that it stores the keys securely and erases them if it detects even the slightest hacking attempt.
What I have not found anywhere, though is how can I be sure that the TPM that is in my machine can be trusted with this? Manufacturers have been known to build in poor security features branding them as secure, I personally have dealt with it a lot of security issues with SSD hardware encryption.
Is there a list of trusted vendors? Is there a way to know that the reported vendor ID is genuine?
