Is there any reasonable justification to be concerned with hardware-based "AI" processors?
Google Tensor is one example of a chip being designed around "AI" features, though it is not the only such chip. While these technologies are being placed on consumer devices, consumer-friendly explanations of the technologies seem rather ambiguous given the enormous expense of development.
Is there currently any concern for these technologies to have some capability that can override any of the software or firmware? For example, could such a chip "decide" to enable or disable features of a device? Could it "decide" to store, delete, or upload data?
Do these technologies merely provide features within a processor that are available to software or firmware, but not able to perform functions outside of that?
