Mom receiving texts with some private info daughter has not sent [closed]
I have received three texts from my daughter's phone number - she is on an iPhone 14, I am on a Google Pixel 4. The first two texts came in on my car Android Auto - a week apart, but within minutes of the same time of day...and copies of these texts do not show up on the car text log, either phone, the Verizon usage list or my Dell computer text program.
The texts use her language and syntax and refer to things specifically appropriate such as an injury from running and broken coffee cups.
The third one arrived today and referred to specific medical history that we don't know of anyone knowing about but her medical office and the two of us. It was a long ranting text, again in convincing language and syntax - a whole page long before it inexplicably attributed the unpublished medical information to a car accident - which never happened.
This last text showed up on my phone and when I log into Verizon - it shows up in our account and when I log into my computer it shows up there as well.
We just don't know anyone that has this information. It isn't published on social media accounts or group chats. It is almost as though someone is getting bits of information from old texts between just the two of us somehow - because they are confident enough to lace the texts with it - but they don't have enough access to be absolutely correct. It is unnerving because this last one was long and full of vitriol. My daughter had her Macbook cleaned up by a local computer company a week before the texts started showing up and she does have the text app connected to her computer as well. I have checked the computer for any other users and there are not any.
HOW are they getting information as specific as a running injury, or an odd tick that surfaced recently, but grossly incorrect about an event that they appear confident occurred?
HOW to stop them?
